On the Verdict in the Scooter Libby Trial
“You want to be careful about lying; otherwise you are nearly sure to get caught”
Convicted today of four counts of perjury, giving false statements, and obstruction of justice, Scooter Libby was apparently not careful enough. He got caught.
On Realistic Expectatioins of Human Nature
“Barring that natural expression of villainy which we all have, the man looked honest enough.”
Do not expect more goodness of a man than you yourself posses. If you find more, then let it be a surprise – and something to strive for in yourself, for it will be expected of you.
